about the photographer...

Sean’s interest in photography started at age 12 when he joined a photography club in intermediate school.  Always curious about how things of science worked, he learned the technical background and the fundamentals of image creation.  After learning the science, it was time to learn about the art that has spawned from this science.

In high school and college Sean’s interest in photography grew.  He worked for Cord Camera throughout college and for a few years after graduation.  It was there where he was invited into the culture of photography.  Several of Sean’s mentors in the industry insisted that he learn the art of portrait photography.  Before this time, his main interests were landscape and fine art photography.  Shortly after assisting on a few weddings Sean started photographing weddings on his own – mainly to learn more about the art and to help pay for college.

Throughout his time at Cord and photographing many weddings Sean learned about the emotional value of a photograph.  He learned that a photograph is almost important as the memory and experience itself.  A feeling about a photograph is universal among most human beings.  Whether it is of family, fine art, a postcard or something they bought to decorate a space – photographs are sentimental and possess a great deal of emotional value.   This life lesson has carried through in the work Sean has provided for clients since the beginnings of his business.

Sean has selected to focus the business on portraiture – more specifically wedding photography.  He also enjoys photography while on vacation and throughout the year.  He and his wife Sarah carry a camera about every where they go.  Thousands upon thousands of digital images clutter the hard drive of their computer.
